Infogalactic:

John Singleton Copley (1738[1]–1815) was an American painter, active in both colonial America and England. He was probably born in Boston, Massachusetts, to Richard and Mary Singleton Copley, both Anglo-Irish. He is famous for his portrait paintings of important figures in colonial New England, depicting in particular middle-class subjects. His paintings were innovative in their tendency to depict artifacts relating to these individuals’ lives.

I’ve chosen here to feature one decade of Mr. Copley’s works, almost none of them of ‘famous people’. He is better known for his pictures of figures of the American Revolutionary War, but these are- just folk, as we like to say.

Also note that the biographical reference comes from Infogalactic rather than Wikipedia – I’ve found the former to be much less political and slanted in its factual representations. The downside of this is, being a startup, Infogalactic loads a good bit slower than Wikipedia. However, it is time to stop using sources that put their politics before the truth. I urge you to give Infogalactic a try.
