In their own words (to each other)

If it seems that prominent Muslims have one face that they show to us in the West and another they show to the folks back home, it is that they are practicing one of the prime principles of their religion- Taqiyya.

The primary Quranic verse sanctioning deception with respect to non-Muslims states: “Let believers not take for friends and allies infidels instead of believers. Whoever does this shall have no relationship left with Allah – unless you but guard yourselves against them, taking precautions.” (Quran 3:28; see also 2:173; 2:185; 4:29; 22:78; 40:28.)

Al-Tabari’s (838-923 AD) Tafsir, or Quranic exegeses, is essentially a standard reference in the entire Muslim world. Regarding 3:28, he wrote: “If you [Muslims] are under their [infidels’] authority, fearing for yourselves, behave loyally to them, with your tongue, while harbouring inner animosity for them… Allah has forbidden believers from being friendly or on intimate terms with the infidels in place of believers – except when infidels are above them [in authority]. In such a scenario, let them act friendly towards them.”

Regarding 3:28, the Islamic scholar Ibn Kathir (1301-1373) wrote: “Whoever at any time or place fears their [infidels’] evil, may protect himself through outward show.”

No other mainstream religion- Christianity, Buddhism, Confucianism, Sikh et. al. condones this behavior. It is considered dishonorable.

The fact that Islam legitimizes deceit during war cannot be all that surprising; strategist Sun Tzu (c. 722-221 BC), Italian political philosopher Machiavelli (1469-1527) and English philosopher Thomas Hobbes (1588-1679) all justified deceit in war.

However, according to all four recognised schools of Sunni jurisprudence, war against the infidel goes on in perpetuity, until “all chaos ceases, and all religion belongs to Allah” (Quran 8:39). According to the definitive Encyclopaedia of Islam (Brill Online edition): “The duty of the jihad exists as long as the universal domination of Islam has not been attained. Peace with non-Muslim nations is, therefore, a provisional state of affairs only; the chance of circumstances alone can justify it temporarily. Furthermore there can be no question of genuine peace treaties with these nations; only truces, whose duration ought not, in principle, to exceed ten years, are authorised. But even such truces are precarious, inasmuch as they can, before they expire, be repudiated unilaterally should it appear more profitable for Islam to resume the conflict.”

Keep this always in the front of your mind when you hear pronouncements from the likes of CAIR. They lie. The Koran tells them to. And they will not be satisfied until we are either converted, paying Jizya, or dead. Any of those three is acceptable. No other solution exists, for them.

Be warned.

You’ve Got To Be Carefully Taught

A song from “South Pacific”

You’ve got to be taught

To hate and fear,

You’ve got to be taught
From year to year,
It’s got to be drummed
In your dear little ear
You’ve got to be carefully taught.

You’ve got to be taught to be afraid
Of people whose eyes are oddly made,
And people whose skin is a diff’rent shade,
You’ve got to be carefully taught.

You’ve got to be taught before it’s too late,
Before you are six or seven or eight,
To hate all the people your relatives hate,
You’ve got to be carefully taught!

I remember seeing South Pacific at the old “Theatre Under The Stars” in Atlanta, long, long ago…

Fred on Northern Charity and Open-Mindedness

Race riot in he South, 1863. Wikipedia: “Rioters subjected black men to the most brutal violence: torture, hanging, and burning.” Eleven were lynched. The Southern mob depicted here were afraid that if the North won the Civil War, freed slaves would take the jobs of whites.

A deeply sensitive take on Northerners and race relations.

Virginian though I am, a son of the Shenandoah, and brought up among the lazy rivers of the state of Marse Bob Lee and Stonewall—rivers where the sun always seemed to shine and you could mostly catch catfish, and almost think that being alive was a good thing until further experience intervened—I have to admit the deep vileness in the Southern soul. Yes. It was this that brought forth such scenes as above. I cannot deny that the events portrayed happened in the South.

The south of Manhattan, anyway, the drawing being of the race riots of 1863 in New York, in which Yankee mobs killed 115 or so innocent people, many of them black.

Here was early evidence of the deep regard in which Yankees held black men—and still hold them if you look at actions and not protestations. There is nothing like a damn Yank to tell how good he is, how drowning in the curds and cream of human kindness, without in his actions displaying a trace of it.

But should we be surprised? These were the same blue-coats who exterminated the Indians. “The only good Indian,” said the Yankee general Sherman, “is a dead Indian.” Such charitable musings were not unique to him. It was a Yankee named Custer, if memory serves, who after the war devoted himself in the name of the Yankee government to killing Indians, though with mixed results. Yet another Yankee general, Phil Sheridan, wanted to slaughter the western buffalo to starve the Indians to death. I cannot withold my admiration for Northerners for the consistency of their racial philosophy.

Absolutely vintage snark. If you’re a Southron, read it and laugh. If you’re a Yankee, enjoy the look in the mirror…

Time to water the Tree Of Liberty

Kurt Schlichter writes Liberals May Regret Their New Rules –

When you block all normal means of dissent, whether by ignoring the political will of you opponents or using the media to mock and abuse them, you build up the pressure. In 30+ years as an active conservative, I’ve never heard people so angry, so frustrated, so fed up. These emotions are supposed to be dissipated by normal political processes. But liberals are bottling them up. And they will blow. It’s only a matter of how.

Liberals need to understand the reality that rarely penetrates their bubble. Non-liberal Americans (it’s more than just conservatives who are under the liberal establishment’s heel) are the majority of this country. They hold power in many states and regions in unprecedented majorities. And these attacks focus on what they hold dearest – their religion, their families and their freedom.

What is the end game, liberals? Do you expect these people you despise to just take it? Do you think they’ll just shrug their shoulders and say, “Well, I guess we better comply?” Do you even know any real Americans? Do you think you’ll somehow be able to force them into obedience – for what is government power but force – after someone finally says “Enough?”

Between GamerGate, the Hugos, and the sad case of Memories Pizza, the mask has slipped completely. Now all that remains is for normal folks to reassert control over the gears and wheels of power.

It won’t be easy- these people genuinely believe they were ‘born to the cloth’ and will have to be driven away kicking and screaming. Media, SJW’s, Government elected and hired- ALL OF THEM.

We can do it. We have the power. Anyone who saw the GoFundMe for Memories grow to $834,000 in less than two days can see we have the power.

It is time to exert it, and Devil take the hindmost. Might be fun 🙂

Better put than I could

I found this comment about the Oscars on Ann Althouse’s blog, from a fellow with the moniker Laslo-

Whatever you do, do not question the stars’ Christianity.

Repeated from the end of an earlier post:

There are already so many different Christian sects and groups, but it is evidently time to recognize a new one: the Democratic Church of the Rhetorical Christ.

This church welcomes all that know that Jesus would want them to be doing exactly what they are doing.

They understand that Jesus is OK with abortion, or any other cause they hold dear, because Jesus would want them to be doing exactly what they are doing.

They understand that Jesus is casual with his Biblical teachings, because Jesus would want them to be doing exactly what they are doing.

They do not need to understand about the Pharisees, for example, because Jesus would want them to be doing exactly what they are doing.

They do not need to worry about hypocrisy, because Jesus would want them to be doing exactly what they are doing.

They can be atheist without contradiction. They understand that Jesus is figurative — but, if he WAS ‘real’, Jesus would want them to be doing exactly what they are doing.

Tithing is OK with someone else’s money. This is because Jesus would want them to be believe exactly what they believe.

Open arms.

I am Laslo.

This seems to be the belief system of most of my contemporaries. Couldn’t have put it better myself.

Personally, I thoroughly enjoyed my non-watching of the Oscars, it was the best non-watching of the Oscars I’ve done in many years. That said- is that a creepy picture or what?

Transcendental Procrastination

Back in the Seventies, I used to have a riff I would bounce off folk, about how my abiding philosophy of life was expressed by the term “Transcendental Procrastination“.. Basically this said that if you put a problem off long enough, it would solve itself and required no action on my part. Funny, huh? Riffing off the Moonies and such.

Now our government is operating under something called “Strategic Patience“. Seems like my old silly stoner philosophy is now the official policy of our State Department. Guess I was ahead of my time, huh?

Surely our betters in DC aren’t TOTAL idiots, are they?

Are they?

A thoughtful and insightful post

– from Ace of Spades. I know, I know. Stay with me, though.

We have had three generations now with a rallying cry of “tear down the old, bring on the new!”. Open Blogger asks the not-so-obvious question, “and replace it with what?”.

When I see, from the entire left side of the political spectrum, more and more strident demands to end Western culture as we know it, I wonder if these people have any clue exactly what it is that they are asking for. King Midas got exactly what he wanted, to his everlasting horror. There’s a lesson in that, an important one, but one that I suspect is lost on someone who navigates through life by the seat of their righteousness, guided by the certainty of their conceit.

We have an entire segment of the population…..the race baiters, the SJWs, the various flavors of communists, anarchists, socialists and anarco-whatevers, feminists, gay rights crusaders, activists of every stripe…..all of who remind me of nothing so much as the proverbial fish who is ignorant of the water in which he is swimming. Like that same fish attempting to drill a hole in the bottom of his tank to “escape”, I don’t think that getting the results they claim to desire would be to their benefit at all.

But let’s keep drilling!

The first leg of the three legged stool that supports Western civilization came from the Jews, and it’s monotheism. The idea of one God as opposed to many different gods begats the concept of absolute right and wrong, which is necessary in order to have the concept of morality. Morality is what takes humans away from a world where might makes right.

The second leg came from the Greeks and Romans, and that’s the idea that the world has certain natural laws, that these laws are universal, and that they can be studied and understood and even manipulated. From this comes science, of course, but a better term for this would be reason.

Finally, from the Anglo-Saxons we got the concept of rule of law. Just as there are universal natural laws that govern nature, so too must man’s laws for governing man must be universal. Nobody is above the law, thus everyone is treated equally. Equality is the third leg.

Note- equality of treatment, not outcome. You still have to make your own way in the world. Or that’s how it used to be…

As I always say, RTWT.

It’s going to be sad and funny when these folk are the first to be shuffled off to the new Gulags. We’ll get to revel in the expressions on their faces- because we’ll be shufflin’ right along with them.
